WHAT IS SPECIALIST RIGGING?

Specialist rigging involves the planning, preparation and execution of complex lifting operations that require more than a standard crane hire. This includes selecting the correct slings, shackles and lifting equipment; calculating load weights and centres of gravity; planning lift sequences; and managing multi-crane tandem lifts.

QuickSILVALIFT’s rigging team brings experience across construction, industrial, mining and infrastructure projects. Our riggers work alongside our mobile crane fleet to deliver safe, precise lifting operations for loads of any complexity.

RIGGING SERVICES

QuickSILVALIFT provides specialist rigging for heavy equipment installation and removal in industrial facilities; structural steel erection in collaboration with QuickSILVAConstruct; mechanical plant installation including generators and compressors; tandem lifts requiring multiple cranes working in coordination; confined space lifts requiring specialist planning; and shutdown work in industrial and mining facilities requiring 24/7 availability.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

All rigging operations are planned and executed in compliance with South African SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) legislation. Our riggers hold the relevant competency certifications and every lift is backed by a documented lift plan including load calculations, sling selections and exclusion zone planning.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Yes. QuickSILVA PlanTranz Hire offers an operator with both wet hire (machine plus fuel) and dry hire (machine only). All our operators are fully certified and experienced across residential, commercial and infrastructure sites.

On a wet hire the hire will include fuel. Dry hire means you supply your own fuel on a hire. Wet hire is the most popular option for contractors who want a turnkey solution.

We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance for our plant hire equipment. For larger excavators or peak periods, a week’s notice ensures availability. Emergency and shutdown work is available 24/7 — call us directly.

Crane hire provides the machine and operator. Rigging is the specialist service of planning and executing the lift; including load assessment, sling selection, lift planning and on-site rigging supervision. Complex lifts require both a crane and a rigging team. QuickSILVALIFT provides both as an integrated service.

Yes. QuickSILVALIFT has experience in tandem (multi-crane) lifts where two or more cranes work together to lift a single load. Tandem lifts require precise coordination, detailed planning and experienced riggers. Our team manages the entire operation from planning through execution.

QuickSILVALIFT’s rigging team serves construction, industrial manufacturing, mining, power generation, oil and gas, commercial property and infrastructure projects. We operate across the Western Cape and Northern Cape with 24/7 availability for shutdown and emergency work.
